EKITI POLL: Muslim Women Pledge Mass Support For Oyebanji’s Re-election

The women, under the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Ekiti State Chapter, gave the assurance on Sunday during an engagement with the governor at Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti.

They commended Oyebanji for inclusive governance, welfare policies for Muslim women, and efforts at promoting religious harmony in the state.

Speaking for the group, FOMWAN Amira, Alhaja Aisat Oluwatoyin Jimoh, said the governor’s leadership had inspired confidence among Muslims and strengthened their participation in governance.

She said Oyebanji is the first governor in the state’s history to appoint over 50 Muslims into his cabinet.

The Amira said Muslim women resolved to mobilise for the governor’s re-election to appreciate his commitment to unity, peace, and development.

Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, also a FOMWAN member, thanked Oyebanji for providing opportunities for Muslim faithful. She said the Muslim community had not enjoyed such goodwill under any previous administration and assured the governor of mass mobilisation and votes.

Governor Oyebanji thanked the women for their support and prayers, describing them as encouragement to serve with greater dedication. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and delivery of democratic dividends to all residents, irrespective of religion or political affiliation.

The governor urged Ekiti people to remain peaceful, united, and law-abiding before, during, and after the election.

“The election is coming, let us be at peace with everybody. We are one in Ekiti. It is only God that gives position and I know that your prayers have been answered. Election will come and go, but Ekiti will remain,” he said.
