PDP Chairman Charges Electorate to Reject Vote-Buying, Maintain Peace

Odeyemi made the appeal on Tuesday during a statewide campaign tour with the PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, where he called on residents to actively participate in the electoral process and vote for the PDP.

According to him, the PVC remains the most effective democratic tool available to citizens to bring about positive change and determine the future direction of the state.

He advised voters to reject all forms of vote-buying and inducement on election day, stressing that the future of Ekiti should not be exchanged for short-term gains.

“It is evident that the people of Ekiti State are yearning for a credible alternative capable of ending the hardship and poor governance being experienced under the APC administration,” Odeyemi said.

He also urged residents to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the election, emphasizing the need for a violence-free electoral process.

Addressing PDP members across the 16 Local Government Areas, wards, and polling units, the party chairman charged supporters to remain law-abiding throughout the campaign period and on election day.

Odeyemi alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was planning to intimidate and arrest opposition members ahead of the election to influence the outcome. He, however, advised PDP supporters not to be provoked but to remain vigilant and committed to democratic principles.

He expressed confidence that the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, would emerge victorious if voters turn out in large numbers and vote peacefully.

The PDP leadership further called on security agencies and electoral authorities to ensure a level playing field for all political parties and guarantee a free, fair, and credible governorship election in the state.
