Bimbo Daramola Rejects Alleged Self-Declaration of Results in Oye/Ikole APC Primary, Calls for Disqualification

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by Lanre Aribisala, Head of Media for the Daramola campaign, the organisation said it had collated results from its agents and disputed the figures being circulated by Rotimi.

“We need to make it clear that we have our agents and have collated the results from our agents. Whatever results Hon. Rotimi and his cohorts are bandying around remain in the figment of his imagination,” the statement read.

The campaign alleged that results from Ikole Local Government were taken to the residence of a serving commissioner in the Ekiti State Government, while results from Oye Local Government were taken to the hotel of another government official for collation. It said it had photographic and video evidence from agents at the locations.

“Here was an election mired by over-voting, violence, and other vices. We ask the public to disregard the purported results and reject the framed outcome as the figment of the imagination of an aspirant who has gone ahead to declare himself winner,” Aribisala said.

The statement cited Rotimi’s loss in Ikole Ward 8, Odo Ayedun, as evidence that his victory claim was baseless, and challenged him to produce evidence from his ward and the wider Ikole Local Government Area.

The Daramola campaign called on the party and relevant authorities to disqualify Rotimi over the self-declaration and alleged manipulation of results.

“The rape cannot stand,” the statement concluded.

Efforts to reach Hon. Akin Rotimi for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
