Oyebanji Thanks Ekiti Residents for Support After 16-LGA Campaign Tour

The tour began in Ikole Local Government Area on May 4 and concluded with a rally at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti. During the tour, the governor also met with traditional rulers in each local government to share his vision for a second term.

In a statement issued Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji said he was encouraged by the turnout and peaceful conduct recorded across the state.

“I am elated by the warm reception accorded me and my team in all the local government areas visited during the 10-day tour, as well as the peaceful conduct exhibited by individuals and groups,” the governor said.

He thanked former governors of the state — Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi — for their participation in the campaign, and the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers for their reception and prayers.

Oyebanji also commended the APC Ekiti 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, led by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and local organizing committees for coordinating the tour. He said the mobilization reflected the party’s commitment to achieving its target of 500,000 votes in the June 20 governorship election.

“We are at the verge of making history and together we shall win convincingly come June 20 and prepare the ground for a much sweeter victory for our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election,” he said.

The governor further acknowledged over 380 groups and associations that had endorsed him and his deputy for a second term in the past year, including labour and trade unions, youth and student groups, market women and informal sector leaders.

Oyebanji reiterated his commitment to an issue-based and violence-free campaign, urging other candidates to maintain peace. “No ambition is worth the blood of any Ekiti citizen,” he said.
