The Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Mr. Samuel Alaba Abejide, has urged political stakeholders in Ise-Orun Local Government to maintain unity as the state government works toward securing Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s re-election in the June 20, 2026 governorship poll.
Speaking during the commission’s campaign tour of the local government, Abejide cautioned council staff and party members against actions that could undermine the image of the APC and the state administration. He said consistent support for the governor would ensure the continued delivery of development initiatives for residents and public servants.
Abejide commended the council workforce for their dedication and warm reception, and encouraged them to reciprocate the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare by voting en masse on election day. He set a target of at least 500,000 votes for Oyebanji as a mark of appreciation for his administration’s performance.
Ise-Orun Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ayodele Samson Bamikole, attributed the call for Oyebanji’s return to office to the governor’s transparency, welfare-focused policies, and record of tangible achievements. He added that his close collaboration with council staff and community leaders had strengthened grassroots mobilisation, and reiterated his administration’s focus on staff welfare in alignment with the governor’s shared prosperity agenda.
Mr. Foluso Akinwumi, Permanent Secretary of the Pensions Transitional Arrangement Department, commended Oyebanji’s leadership in reforming the public service for improved efficiency. He urged public servants to uphold professional ethics and adhere strictly to public service regulations.
NULGE President, Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde, recalled challenges faced by workers under past administrations and called for an intensive door-to-door campaign across Ise-Orun to educate voters on the governor’s accomplishments.
LGSC Commissioner Prince Suyi Aladesanmi described Oyebanji as a visionary leader whose policies have produced measurable development across the state. He assured staff that grassroots development and workers’ welfare would remain priorities if the governor is re-elected, with continuity of ongoing projects as a key outcome.
NULGE Branch Chairman, Comrade Benson Olaiya, said local government employees are central to grassroots governance and pledged the union’s full support for Oyebanji at the polls.
In her vote of thanks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Abiola Ijasan, expressed appreciation to the commission for its confidence in Ise-Orun staff and pledged to mobilise voters across all wards to ensure victory for the governor.
