The Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) has successfully facilitated the enrollment of women in Ekiti State with the National Identification Number (NIN), a crucial step towards enhancing their access to financial services, government interventions, and economic opportunities.

The initiative, implemented in Efon, Moba, and Ayekire/Gbonyin Local Government Areas, targeted women in Women Affinity Groups (WAGs) who lacked formal identification.
Through collaboration with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), NFWP-SU brought enrollment services closer to the grassroots, ensuring easy access and participation.
“The exercise is a critical step toward deepening women’s inclusion in national and economic development,” said Oluwatoyin Familoni, Ekiti State Project Coordinator, NFWP-SU.
“Obtaining a NIN is essential for accessing financial services, government interventions, and other empowerment opportunities.”
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, citing the newfound sense of identity and access to formal financial systems and social protection programs.
The successful enrollment drive demonstrates NFWP-SU’s commitment to promoting inclusiveness and removing barriers, ensuring women in Ekiti State are not left behind in sustainable development efforts.
