The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a major breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking, intercepting a large consignment of cocaine hidden in tins of palm kernel extract bound for the United Kingdom.

The operation, which lasted three weeks, led to the arrest of the kingpin and two other suspects.
According to NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the breakthrough began on March 11 when officers intercepted 3.10 kilograms of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.
A sting operation on April 2 led to the arrest of the sender, who was operating under a fake identity.
This is not an isolated incident, as the NDLEA has been intensifying intelligence-led operations at airports, courier companies, and across states to dismantle networks targeting destinations in Europe and Asia.
