I Can Afford Private Jet, Says Pastor Ibiyeomie, Urges Members to Embrace Giving

Addressing worshippers during a sermon in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the cleric dismissed claims that giving leads to poverty, arguing instead that reluctance to give is responsible for financial struggles.

According to him, consistent generosity cannot result in lack, adding that his personal experience stands as proof that those who give do not become poor.

Explaining further, the preacher said his donations are motivated by commitment to God rather than the size of his bank account, noting that some members may control more liquid cash but choose not to give as much.

Speaking on his financial strength, Ibiyeomie declared that acquiring luxury assets such as a private jet would not be difficult for him, but he has decided to channel available resources into ongoing church projects.

He pointed out that funds currently being used for the construction of a cathedral could purchase multiple jets if redirected, yet he prefers to prioritise what he described as kingdom advancement.

Highlighting his vision for the church’s infrastructure, the pastor said the proposed cathedral would reflect excellence and grandeur, adding that it should compare favourably with other prestigious institutions.

His remarks have since generated discussion among members of the public over wealth, faith and the role of religious leaders in society.
