The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has inaugurated 5,000 community canvassers to mobilise support ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

The volunteers, drawn from across the state, will engage in a house-to-house campaign to promote Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
Speaking at the launch held in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, sOyebanji commended the canvassers for their conviction and voluntary support, saying they’re not just party members, but citizens driven by belief in his government’s performance.
He emphasised the need for accountability, saying elected officials must remain accessible to the people.
Oyebanji attributed his administration’s achievements to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support and urged supporters to adopt data-driven mobilisation strategies. He set a target of at least 500,000 votes in the election, saying the outcome would signal appreciation for Tinubu’s support.

The governor cautioned against political violence, urging peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process.
The Director-General of the Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Oso – Omotosho, said the mobilisation effort would strengthen direct voter engagement and deliver about 125,000 votes.
Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, and other top officials.
