The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that any Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre that cannot be monitored remotely will be barred from participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.
The board disclosed this in its weekly bulletin released on Monday, introducing a new initiative tagged “No Vision, No Registration, No UTME”, aimed at eliminating registration irregularities.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said all accredited CBT centres will henceforth be monitored live from the board’s National Headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, any centre whose registration activities cannot be viewed in real time from the headquarters will not be paid, while such registrations may also be invalidated.
Oloyede further stated that only Microsoft or Digitech live cameras will be permitted for capturing candidates’ second images during registration, a step taken to address cases of photo manipulation discovered during the 2025 UTME.
He added that all centres are now required to migrate to HIKVision wired CCTV systems, with a minimum of 16 channels covering examination halls, verification rooms, walkways, entrances, exits and server rooms, stressing that wireless CCTV systems are not allowed.
The registrar warned that centres found violating the new guidelines would face sanctions, including possible prosecution, noting that JAMB will not fund CCTV upgrades and that centres must bear the costs themselves before being allowed to operate.
He also reminded stakeholders that individuals and centres previously involved in examination malpractice have already been delisted and prosecuted.
Meanwhile, JAMB announced that registration for the 2026 UTME officially commenced on Monday, January 26.
