Comrade Suleiman Joins Ido/Osi Assembly Race

Comrade Suleiman popularly known as SMT said his entry into the race is a response to what he described as persistent challenges at the community level, including limited economic opportunities for young people, welfare gaps and weak citizen participation in governance.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Ifaki-born aspirant said the constituency needs representation that understands local realities and is ready to push practical solutions through lawmaking and advocacy.

He explained that his focus will be on policies that directly impact daily living, especially job creation through agriculture, small businesses and skills-based training for youths.

The aspirant also identified women and elderly residents as key priorities, noting that targeted welfare and healthcare support would form part of his legislative push if elected.

On education, Comrade Suleiman said access to quality learning must improve, stressing the need for scholarships, mentorship and better learning tools to support students across Ido/Osi.

He further promised regular engagement with constituents, saying people must be involved in decision-making and monitoring of projects at the ward and community levels.

According to him, transparency and accountability will guide his approach to governance, with emphasis on tracking public spending and constituency projects to ensure value for the people.

Comrade Suleiman , who has held several leadership positions in student and community organisations, said his background has prepared him for effective representation in the state assembly.

He added that his upbringing in Ifaki has shaped his understanding of grassroots challenges and strengthened his commitment to people-first leadership.

The aspirant described his ambition as a move to reposition Ido/Osi Constituency 1 for inclusive growth and responsive governance ahead of the 2027 elections.
