Women Choose Prayer For Peace, Harmony In Rivers State

The group, known as Rivers Women Unite for SIM, during their monthly prayer session on Thursday, June 27 2024, fervently prayed for an end to the political tension and chaos being perpetrated by hoodlums. The group earnestly called for divine intervention to further calm and stabilize the state.

The women expressed deep concern over the current political turmoil and called on God Almighty to heal Rivers State and bring an end to all forms of political disputes created by some selfish and self-serving political leaders.

Several women who spoke at the event condemned the attempt being made to tarnish the reputation of Rivers State, known as “A Peaceful Rivers.”

Conscious of the fact that women and children often suffer the most in times of chaos, they emphasized the need for maintaining peace and harmony in the state.

The women also highlighted the efforts of the state governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who has consistently advocated for peace and has urged his supporters to avoid any provocation or engagement in violence.

The June edition of the monthly prayers session saw the participation of over 1,000 women, all united in their quest for peace.

A statement by the group media officer, Christy Sunday also expressed gratitude to God for blessing Rivers State with a leader who prioritizes the well-being of the people over the quest for power.

She praised Governor Fubara as a man of peace and integrity.

The women at the event unanimously agreed that in one year, the governor has provided good governance that has positively touched on almost all sectors in the state. They therefore congratulated him  for his one year in office as they pledged their continued support and prayers for the man they  call  “MR SILENT ACHIEVER”.

The theme for the June edition was “A Peaceful Rivers ” reflecting the group’s commitment to fostering a peaceful and stable environment for all residents.
