The United States of America Ambassador to Nigeria, Richards Mills, has described former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as a repository of knowledge.
The Ambassador further stated that anyone who visits Obasanjo will learn and go away with a lot of knowledge.
Mills added that the former leader’s Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State captured the real hope, which all Nigerians wanted to see in no distant future.
He made these disclosures on Thursday while speaking on his visit to the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) and the Pent house residence of the former President on Thursday.
Mills declared that the OOPL it was a fascinating place to visit.
In a press statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the visiting Ambassador hinted that he had a viable and open discussions with Obasanjo during the visit.
After about an hour private session with Obasanjo, Mills embarked on a tour of the edifice before departing the complex, saying, “it is fascinating.
“It captures the real moment in time, when there is so much hope in Nigeria. And, i think we all want to see that come back. It is also a slight of history for people to see.”
On his session with Obasanjo, Mills said it was a very viable, adding, “I had a open and frank discussion with the former President. He is a friend of the United States and we always learn with a visit to the former President Obasanjo.
Obasanjo said that since the Ambassador reported in the country in August, it has been very difficult to host him because of his busy schedule and it was therefore pleasant that he was his guest today.
