The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police,Dare Ogundare, on Thursday had a get-together with Journalists in the State alongside some top ranking officers at the Police Military Emergency Service Support (MESS), Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
While playing host to the members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, Ogundare reinstated the Command’s commitment towards fighting Crimes and providing adequate security in the State.
The CP, who emphasized the readiness of Police at making Ekiti crime- free, commended the smooth relationship between Police and Journalists in the State, adding that the good relationship has made the State well secured and peaceful through their various reportages by projecting the activities of Ekiti Police in a positive light in most cases.
In his own remark, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, while commending the Police boss and other Principal Officers in the gathering for maintaining good rapport with journalists in the State, assured them of more support of his members in projecting the Command in good light.
Babatuyi promised that the relationship which has been existing between the Police and Journalists in the State over the years will be sustained.
The occasion was livened up with different melodious songs by the Police band who were on ground to entertain the gathering while dining and wining were going on.
