Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) says it received 11 complaints in the month of May.
Abdullahi Al-ameen, Commander Operations, Northwest Zonal Command of the service, disclosed this in an interview in Kano on Saturday.
He said that the service is trying its best to leave up to its mandate, including prevention, detection of crimes and illegal activities perpetrated in the forests.
According to him, “out of the 11 complainants, two had been treated and done with, while nine were pending.
“Most of the cases were on animal theft, phone snatching and fraud. We have tried to nip the various criminal activities in the forest in the bud,” he said.
He solicited the cooperation of the public to make the state a zero-free society.
Al-ameen also appealed to president Bola Tinubu to assent to the bill to make them one of the government security outfits because they are still a voluntary organisation.
