Following the victory recorded by the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji in the suit instituted against his emergence as a governor, an All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo, has appealed to the opposition to join the development strides of the current government to make Ekiti greater in all spheres.
Adedayo, who hails from Osun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State, urged the petitioner and Social Democratic Party’s Candidate, Engr. Segun Oni in the June 18, 2022 governorship poll, to take his judicial defeat with equanimity and coalesce efforts with Governor Oyebanji to transform Ekiti.
The APC chieftain spoke, in a statement he personally signed, congratulating Governor Oyebanji and his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, on their victory at the Election Petition Tribunal, on Thursday.
Adedayo, saluted the party members and leaders for being steadfast in their support for Governor Oyebanji, describing the victory as sweet and well deserved.
He assured the people of the State of the APC’s commitment and zeal to transform the State and make it a microcosm of development in all facets of the economy in the country.
The APC stalwart stated that the victory will further invigorate Governor Oyebanji to deliver on his well encapsulated and ingeniously conceived six-point agenda targeted at turning around the fortunes of the state.
“This is one victory that truly represented and met the expectation of the good people of Ekiti State, who truly gave the mandate to Governor Oyebanji to serve them.
“We all knew that the election that produced Governor Oyebanji was adjudged one of the most transparent elections in Nigeria’s history.
“We are not contesting the fact that Engr Segun Oni enjoys the inalienable right to seek redress in court, but as Patriots, it is expected that he should respect the verdict of the court and accept that fact that it was God’s design for Governor Oyebanji to govern Ekiti at this time.
“I congratulate Mr. Governor on this victory and hope that this will fortify his spirit and commitment to serve Ekiti better with all his might”.
