The US and Iran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, with Iran agreeing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.

This breakthrough comes after a stern ultimatum from Washington, and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Tehran will halt hostilities if attacks against Iran are halted.
The agreement is part of a broader 10-point ceasefire plan, which includes Iran seeking compensation for recent damages.
However, there’s a discrepancy regarding Lebanon, with Israel stating the ceasefire doesn’t include Lebanon, while Pakistan’s Prime Minister says it does.
Pakistan has played a key role in mediating the deal and has invited both delegations to Islamabad for formal talks this Friday.
The ceasefire is seen as a significant development, but analysts suggest Iran remains in a precarious position.
