The Biden administration, in its final days, announced on Friday that the decision to enforce a ban on China’s popular social media app, TikTok, will rest with the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
“Considering the timing, it is clear that any steps to implement the law will need to be carried out by the next administration,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated.
Her remarks followed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the law prohibiting TikTok on the grounds of national security.
