United States President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearances of several high-profile Democrats, including former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
According to Fox News, the affected individuals are outspoken critics of Trump.
Speaking to the New York Post, Trump described Blinken, who served as Secretary of State under President Joe Biden, as a “bad guy” and ordered the removal of his security access.
James and Bragg were involved in legal actions against Trump in New York last year. On Friday, James’ office, alongside 18 other Democratic state attorneys general, filed a lawsuit challenging the Department of Government Efficiency’s access to the Treasury Department’s payment system.
This move follows Trump’s earlier decision to revoke former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and access to presidential daily briefings.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump justified the action, stating, “There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information.”
