Troops of Operation Enduring Peace arrested nine men suspected of involvement in targeted killings and recovered assorted arms and ammunition during an operation in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The arrests come amid ongoing security concerns over recurring attacks and cycles of violence in the area.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X, stating that the operation occurred at about 1:35 a.m. on April 18, after troops stationed at Ganawuri responded to reports of suspicious movement toward the Danwal area.
According to Makama, the troops intercepted and arrested the suspects, who were found with blood stains on their bodies, raising suspicion of recent involvement in violent incidents.
He identified those arrested as Gyang Dantoro, Samson Davou, Choji Yakubu, Vincent Adamu, Pam Dalyop, Femi Badung, Jacob Musa and Choji Chaga. All are residents of Danwal. One additional name was not provided in the post.
Items recovered during the operation include three motorcycles, one pistol, one submachine gun, one locally made revolver rifle, one locally fabricated rifle, and 20 rounds of pistol ammunition, among other items, Makama said.
The military has not issued an official statement on the arrests as of press time. The suspects remain in custody pending investigation.
