The President urged citizens to fulfill their civic responsibilities without fear, both before and after the polls.

In a statement released on Friday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed his desire for a democratic process that truly reflects the will of the people, allowing them to freely choose their leaders.

The President praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its diligent preparations, particularly the prompt distribution of sensitive election materials across the state’s 18 local government areas.

President Tinubu also commended the deployment of security personnel to maintain law and order, noting assurances from the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of Defence Staff that officers would act professionally and in line with the Electoral Act to ensure a credible election.

Furthermore, President Tinubu reminded candidates and political stakeholders that the authority to govern is a privilege granted by the people and must be respected.

He emphasized the importance of a free and fair election, underscoring that it is in the best interest of all Nigerians to protect the integrity of the nation’s 25-year democratic journey.
