Tinubu Makes New. Appointment

His appointment takes effect from August 14, 2025, following the retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji, who will bow out of service on August 13 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General A.M. Jibril (rtd), on behalf of the President.

The CDCFIB described the new Controller-General as a seasoned officer with vast experience, having previously served in the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service where he rose to become the Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources.

The Board noted that Olumode had completed all required in-service and command trainings, including other professional courses both in Nigeria and abroad.

He is a member and fellow of several professional bodies such as the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Board commended the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Jaji, for his dedication and contributions to the growth and development of the Service during his tenure.
