President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the brutal murder of traveling hunters intercepted and killed by local vigilantes in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Describing the act as a “dastardly crime,” Tinubu on Thursday directed the Police and other security agencies to launch a thorough investigation to track down and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Commiserating with the families of the victims, the President vowed that “criminals will not be allowed to shed the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain.”
Reaffirming the constitutional right of all Nigerians to move freely across the country, Tinubu emphasized that “jungle justice has no place in Nigeria.”
He also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Uromi community leaders for their swift intervention in preventing an escalation of tensions.
