President Bola Tinubu has spoken on the lingering political crisis in Rivers State, urging stakeholders to embrace peace and uphold the rule of law.
Addressing leaders of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, Tinubu revealed that he had foreseen the crisis and had made several efforts, both publicly and privately, to resolve it.
He urged PANDEF to work towards peace, emphasizing that the Supreme Court had already ruled on the matter and its decision must be respected.
“I should not be here as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria if there is no rule of law. I have total confidence in our judiciary. Human beings can make errors, but once the Supreme Court has spoken, that is it,” Tinubu stated.
His remarks come as Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara recently pledged to implement all rulings of the apex court to restore peace in the state.
