President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the new Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company.
This was confirmed in a statement released by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Friday evening in Abuja.
The appointment, which takes effect from April 3, 2025, aligns with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008, as amended.
Before his appointment, Nasir Abdulsalam served as the Technical Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development and the Special Assistant (Academics) to the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).
President Tinubu has tasked Abdulsalam to use his extensive experience in the steel industry to transform the company, aiming to drive significant industrial and economic activities that will position Nigeria as Africa’s industrial hub in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
