A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ekiti State, Barrister Gbenga Ojo, has advised the newly sworn in President of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow distraction in his government.

Barrister Ojo, House of Representatives aspirant in the last general election made the advice in a telephone interview with Journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

Asiwaju Tinubu was on Monday sworn in as the sixteen democratically elected President of Nigeria. He succeeded Muhammadu Buhari.

The party chieftain urged the President not to allow what will distract his attention from being a progressive governor by serving the masses more than the elite.

According to him, the APC as a party with ideology of progressive meant to implement programmes that will serve masses more than the elite.

Barr. Ojo, charged President Tinubu on the need to consider Ekiti people, particularly the physical challenged, less privileged and  some capable Nigerians respectively in his administration, expressed confidence in him to give the best to the people as former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“Consequently, everything in that government (immediate past government), he knows and governance is not new to him. The administration is going to be very smooth for him by the grace of God.

“The swearing-in of the new President in Nigeria further reassures and reinforces our hope in achieving the best for Nigerians and Nigeria development,” he said.

He implored President Tinubu, to focus on developmental programmes of infrastructure, agriculture, rural development and electrification, industrialisation, security and governance among others for the interest of the people.

Barr Ojo, called on APC members in the country to give President Tinubu their support to pick the best hands and brains and not be selfish in their recommendations so that he can implement his electoral promises.

“Right pegs that can be in right holes in Nigeria cannot be a shortage. APC should cooperate with him and  should not be selfish in their recommendation.

”They should get right people for him to implement programmes that are going to be progressive,” he noted.
