The Presidency has postponed the Senate screening of seven ministerial nominees to allow for the completion of necessary documentation and pre-screening procedures.
Originally set for Tuesday, the screening will now take place on Wednesday at noon, as announced in a statement by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters.
Last Wednesday, President Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet, dismissing five ministers, reassigning ten others, and nominating seven new ministers for Senate confirmation.
The nominees include Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu for Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Nentawe Yilwatda for Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, ending the tenure of suspended Minister Betta Edu. Maigari Dingyadi was nominated as Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole for Industry, Idi Maiha for the new Livestock Development Ministry, Yusuf Ata for Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad for Minister of State for Education.
The Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, is expected to conduct the screening on Wednesday.
