The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned applicants shortlisted for its ongoing Computer-Based Test (CBT) to log in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled session each day.
Issuing the directive on Wednesday in Abuja, the Secretary to the Board, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril, said the online test phase, which kicked off the same day, will continue through next week with daily sessions starting at 9:00 a.m.
Highlighting the structure of the exercise, Jibril noted that only applicants assigned to specific time slots would be able to access the system. The portal, he explained, will open 30 minutes prior to each scheduled examination.
He stated that participants should visit recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng to log in during their assigned window, complete the mandatory photo verification, and stay in the virtual waiting room until the test begins automatically.
Reiterating the need for strict compliance, the board’s scribe urged all candidates to thoroughly review the exam guidelines to avoid disqualification, warning that the testing platform has been equipped to detect and penalise cheating or interference.
According to him, the exam system is AI-monitored throughout the session and will flag any case of malpractice, third-party involvement, or device manipulation.
Jibril further advised candidates to ensure stable internet connectivity, an uninterrupted power supply, and to use a laptop for best performance. He added that while phones or tablets can be used, any call interruptions or app switching during the test would trigger a violation alert.
He cautioned that multiple infractions could lead to automatic disqualification, although those who experience brief disconnections may rejoin the test within their allotted time to continue from where they stopped.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the board oversees key paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
It will be recalled that the CDCFIB began releasing the list of shortlisted candidates for the ongoing recruitment CBT on October 30, 2025.
