Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Nweji is dead. She reportedly died on Friday after a brief illness.
Nollywood producer Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, has confirmed the passing of the actress
Sharing the heartbreaking news on Instagram alongside her picture, he wrote:
“Nollywood in tears… We lost one of our vibrant actresses, @nkechi.nweje, after a brief illness.”
Expressing his grief, “I couldn’t post since morning because it felt like a dream to me. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha, rest in peace, ma’am. My best friend, she always called to advise me. The last time we spoke was during the Queenth saga. She said, ‘Ontop, stop.’ I’m still speechless.”
Nweje is survived by her husband and six children. Her passing has left a deep void in the Nollywood industry, with colleagues and fans mourning the loss of a beloved actress.
