Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has lost his mother, Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru, who passed away at the age of 93.
A statement released on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, confirmed her demise, describing her as a woman of strength, dignity, and wisdom.
“Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru Baribari departed this world last night at the blessed age of 93. She was not only a mother to Governor Radda but also a guiding figure to many leaders and community members,” the statement read.
Her children include the Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar-Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umar-Radda, former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
The statement further described her as a true Fulani matriarch whose legacy of integrity, perseverance, and service to the community will continue to inspire many.
Her funeral is scheduled for 4 pm on Sunday in Radda village, Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
