The Nigeria Police Force has denied claims of the return of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), urging the public to disregard such reports.
In a statement titled “Disclaimer: SARS Remains Dissolved,” issued in Abuja on Monday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, reaffirmed that SARS, which was disbanded on October 11, 2020, remains permanently dissolved.
“The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is not back in operation. Reports about its reformation should be treated with caution,” he stated.
He advised Nigerians to rely on official police communication channels for accurate updates, directing them to follow @PoliceNG on X, @ngpolice on Facebook, and @nigeriapoliceforce on Instagram.
ACP Adejobi emphasized the need for public vigilance and accurate information, assuring citizens that their safety remains a top priority.
