Brazilian police have successfully thwarted a planned bombing at a Lady Gaga concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of a suspect connected to the failed plot.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police revealed that the suspects were attempting to recruit participants to carry out attacks using improvised explosive devices, aiming to gain notoriety on social media.
Lady Gaga’s concert, part of her Mayhem tour, was held at the iconic Copacabana venue. The singer had previously announced the show on Instagram, expressing her excitement to return to Brazil after a previous concert had to be canceled due to an injury.
The planned attack was reportedly aimed at disrupting the event, but swift intervention by the authorities prevented any harm to attendees.
