
The Police have arraigned a 44-year-old suspected serial killer, Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Esho, before an Ogba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly killing eight persons and causing permanent disability to a woman.
Akinwande was brought before Chief Magistrate Mobolaji Tanimola on an 11-count charge filed by the Police.
The charges against him include conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of a poisonous dager, multiple counts of murder, attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, threat to life, and unlawful possession of international passports and other dangerous weapons.
According to the Police, the offences were committed at various times and locations, and investigations linked the suspect to a series of violent attacks resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
The prosecution alleged that Akinwande had used both firearms and poisonous weapons during his operations, leaving a trail of fear and destruction.
The court ordered that the accused be remanded pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case was adjourned to a later date for further hearing.
