
Ekiti State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has clinched two of the nine awards given to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State for outstanding performances in revenue generation by the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service.

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji made the presentation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as well as an agency under the Ministry – Farm settlements and Peasant Farmers Development Programme at a programme organized in Ado-Ekiti to review performances of MDAs in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The Governor, at the programmme, commended the outstanding MDAs and encouraged all stakeholders to take an active role in promoting tax compliance and ensure that the Government revenue policies are well-implemented.
He emphasized that everyone must work hand in hand to eliminate the barriers and block all revenue leakages that can hinder the State’s progress.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security Mr Ebenezer Boluwade, commended the State Governor and the EKIRS for the gesture, saying the Ministry will make efforts to surpass the current level of performance subsequently.
He commended the Staff of the Ministry for working assiduously to complement the huge interventions of the State and Federal Governments in Agric Sector to ensure food security and empowerment for farmers, particularly young farmers in the State.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Ojo Babatope has charged workers to be imbibe the culture of resilience and patience in order to achieve a robust career in the Civil Service.
He gave the charge while addressing the workers at a forum in Ado-Ekiti.
Babatope encouraged the workers to work hard, pray and remain hopeful, stressing that such virtues will bring about greater heights and enviable positions for them later in their career.
He encouraged them not to shirk in their responsibilities towards teaming up with the Biodun Oyebanji led administration to make the State the food basket of the nation.
