The Ekiti State Government in conjunction with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, (UNICEF) will be engaging relevant stakeholders in Ekiti State on an advocacy programme this week, to create necessary awareness among the parents and the Girl- Child in the State on the importance of Human Papiloma Vaccine (HPV), through proper sensitisation in various wards.
The one day advocacy programme which is slated for Wednesday October 8th, will be held at Inspiration Hotel, Ikere Ekiti.
In a letter by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of information, Ekiti State as signed by Mrs. Adesola Fadiran, the meeting will center on creating awareness on the need for the concerned persons to take the vaccine, and make correct information available to the media to assist in sensitising the stakeholders and the public at large on the need to mobilize targeted girls to increase uptake of the HPV vaccine.
In view of this, the State Ministry of Information, according to the Permanent Secretary, in conjunction with UNICEF, is organising one-day advocacy programme with journalists and relevant stakeholders in the State which will hold as scheduled.
