Oyebanji’s Victory Broke Ekiti’s Political Jinx – RETSO  … Describes Re-election as Validation of Purposeful Leadership and People-Centered Governance

In a statement issued on Monday by its Media team, RETSO said the June 20, 2026 governorship election marked a historic milestone as the people of Ekiti State renewed their confidence in the governor and broke what had long been regarded as an impossible political jinx in the state.

According to the organization, the victory was more than an electoral win.

“The resounding victory was not merely an electoral triumph; it was a powerful validation of purposeful leadership, humility in service, and a development-focused administration that has consistently placed the people above politics,” the statement read.

RETSO noted that one month after the election, the message from Ekiti voters remains clear.

“The euphoria of that historic day may have settled, but the message from the electorate remains that performance, sincerity, accessibility, and inclusive governance will always earn the trust and confidence of the people,” the group stated.

As the state prepares for the commencement of Governor Oyebanji’s second term, RETSO prayed for divine guidance for the administration.

“It is the prayer of many Ekiti people that God will continue to grant Governor Oyebanji greater wisdom, sound health, uncommon strength, and divine direction to consolidate on the remarkable achievements of his first term.

“May the years ahead usher in even greater peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across every community in Ekiti State,” the organization said.

RETSO further congratulated Governor Oyebanji on the renewed mandate and expressed optimism that the second term would surpass the achievements of the first.

“Congratulations once again to Governor BAO on this historic milestone and the renewed confidence reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State.

May the second term record even greater accomplishments than the first,” the statement concluded.
