Oyebanji’s Aide, Tedela Assures Junior Workers of Constant Training 

Tedela made the assertion at the opening ceremony of a 2-day Capacity Building Workshop for Clerical Officers in the Service of Ekiti State Government.

The training which kick-started in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday had its theme as ‘The Modern-Day Registry: Keeping Pace with Technological Advancement in Electronic Record keeping, Filing and Personnel Management in the era of Digitalization’.

The Commissioner noted that the importance and relevance of every category of officers to the achievement of the goals and programmes of the State Government as captured in the six pillars of Governor Oyebanji’s administration cannot be overemphasized.

He commended the efforts of the Civil Service towards the digitalization of her activities and charged the participants not to downplay the importance placed on the training by the State Government.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Olawale Olaleye noted that the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji recognized the centrality of duties of the clerical officers to the achievements of Government’s programmes and policies, hence, the approval of the workshop.

He commended the State Governor, the Head of Service and the heads of the different Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for providing a conducive atmosphere for the training, saying the participants will be exposed to new and better ways of discharging their duties.

In her goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Service Matters, Mrs Janet Ajibola explained that the workshop was not only relevant but essential to the fast changing work environment.

She noted that registries in the past, depended heavily on manual filing system which was cumbersome, time consuming and prone to errors unlike now that record management system had improved as a result of the advent of technology.

Two of the facilitators, Mr Joseph Oyinloye, Director of Service Matters and Industrial Relations and Mrs Adebimpe Ayodele expressed optimism that the participants will learn, unlearn and relearn in the Course of the workshop and become experts in their fields of operations.

Participants including Oluwaseunfunmi Ajayi Temitope, Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme and Adeniyi Aborisade, Ministry of Local Government Affairs commended the State Government for deeming it fit to train them, noting that the gesture was first of its kind in that magnitude.

They promised to bring the experience garnered at the training to bear on their duties to enhance qualitative service to members of the public.
