Ekiti State Governor-elect, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has met with 239 support groups under the aegis of BAO Anchor Organisation to show appreciation for their support during the governorship election campaign.
Oyebanji, his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, APC Ekitk State Chairman, Barr. Paul Omotoso and other party leaders, who met with members of the groups in Ado Ekiti, thanked them for their commitment, love and selfless sacrifice during the electioneering period.
“This victory is yours. God that knows my intentions put it in your hearts to support me. The uniqueness of what you did is that this is the first time this will be happening.
“Secondly, because you are not politicians, people believe you. God gave us victory using you people. On behalf of myself, the deputy governor-elect and the party, we are very grateful”
Speaking further, the Governor-elect re-affirmed his commitment to fulfil all his campaign promises. He also promised to justify the support and votes given him, as well as maintaining cordial relationship with them.
“During my electioneering campaign, I made some promises to you.
I am here today to recommit myself to all the promises I have made with you.
“For me to maintain the good name I have with you, I must not disappoint you. This is your govt. We are going to run this government together. Individually, collectively, I will make sure you are okay. Indeed, after God, you are my strength”
The Governor-elect however charged the support groups to maintain a cordial relationship with the leadership of BAO Anchor organization and accord them their due respect.
Earlier, the Chairman of BAO Anchor organization, Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, in his welcome address, had thanked the Governor-elect on behalf of the Anchor group for deeming it fit to show appreciation for the support given to him during his electioneering campaign.
“Indeed, this is actually a day that the Lord has made. We are glad for the victory the Lord has granted us.
All the support groups under the aegis of BAO Anchor Organization congratulate our Governor-elect and his deputy on their electoral victory. We also show our profound appreciation for deeming it fit to say, ‘thank you’ to us. We are very glad”
Hon. Agbeyo assured the Governor-elect of the groups’ total support for his administration.
Earlier, the Governor-elect, had visited Ekiti South West and Irepodun/ Ifelodun Local Government areas in continuation of the ‘thank you tour’. He also paid courtesy visit to royal fathers in these local governments and assured them of constant meetings with traditional institution in the state.
