Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has applauded the Federal Government for its commitment to small business development through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinics, describing the initiative as a practical tool that aligns economic growth with real development at the grassroots.
Governor Oyebanji gave the commendation on Tuesday at the 7th Edition of the Expanded National MSME Clinics held in Akure, Ondo State.
He described the clinics as a landmark policy intervention by the Federal Government to bridge the gap between national economic frameworks and local empowerment.
“Without mincing words, this is the first attempt by any government to deliberately align growth with development,” Oyebanji said. “Most times in this country, we record good economic indices, GDP numbers that suggest growth but without corresponding development. But since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, there has been a focused attempt to link both, and we are extremely thankful.”
The governor said the initiative reflects President Tinubu’s understanding of the pivotal role of MSMEs in job creation, poverty reduction, and industrialization, adding that his administration remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment in Ekiti State.
Recalling a previous edition of the MSME Clinics held in Ekiti, Oyebanji noted that the impact has been enduring. He expressed optimism that Ondo State would also benefit in the same manner.
