Residents of Oye-Ekiti have raised the alarm over the delay in the release of outstanding academic results and graduation documents by the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), warning that the prolonged idleness of affected graduates could make them vulnerable to political manipulation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The residents expressed concern that some of the affected youths, who are unable to secure employment, further their education or engage in other productive activities, could be lured into thuggery and other forms of electoral violence by desperate politicians.
Speaking on the issue, a resident, Mr Sunday Komolafe, said the delay had left many graduates frustrated and stranded in the university community.
Komolafe alleged that some of the graduates were already being approached by political interests and encouraged to disguise themselves as indigenes of other communities to facilitate their involvement in political activities.
He warned that keeping young graduates idle for too long could expose them to exploitation by politicians seeking to advance their electoral interests.
