Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has declared that the second term mandate given to the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji was ordained by God.

Afuye described the governor as a godly man whose devotion to God and service remains unquantifiable, adding that his unwavering faith saw the administration through the tough moments of the last gubernatorial election.

She spoke at her country-home branch of the Celestial Church of Christ in Ikere-Ekiti, during her ongoing thanksgiving tour of Celestial churches across the state.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Tope Ariyo, Afuye thanked church authorities across the nation for standing by the administration throughout the election period.
She noted that the church and other faith-based organisations in the state deserved applause for their unwavering support for the Oyebanji-led administration.
“I would like to thank our leaders across the state for standing by us. The support shown by this church was massive, not only in Celestial, but across Christian and Muslim divides. I thank all our faith-based organisations for the uncommon love,” she said.
“Our Governor is a man that fears God, both him and his wife. Having a man of substance like him at the helm of affairs could only mean that God will be made first in his policies and their executions.”
Afuye expressed optimism that the second term mandate of the administration would usher in better and improved service delivery across the state, affirming that priority would be given to job creation and industrialisation.
She added that despite the noise and antics of mischief makers, the governor’s faith in God remained unwavering.
Earlier, the presiding priest of the church, Venerable Rotimi Ogunbunmi, stressed the importance of prayers and unwavering faith in God, asserting that godliness with contentment is of great reward.
He applauded Governor Oyebanji for exhibiting moral standards and upbringing befitting a godly leader, noting that the aura of peace and orderliness witnessed in the state was a pointer to the presence of God in his life and that of the Deputy Governor.
