OSUN To Host 2nd Annual Global Yoruba History, Heritage May 2025      … As Maaye Olubadan of Ibadan land, Alabi Heads Planning Committee

Speaking while inaugurating the Committee the Foundation Deputy President,  Dr. Abdulfattah Durojaiye urged the Committee to be passionate and ensure a successful celebration that will surpass the first edition of the Annual Global Yoruba History and Heritage Celebration held in Abeokuta on 21st May, 2024. 

Addressing the committee on behalf of other members on behalf, the Chairman, Oloye Lekan Alabi, said with the caliber of people in the committee and leveraging on the abundant human resource and cultural icons in the southwest, the 2025 edition will be a huge success.

Statement by the BOT Secretary, Southwest Regional Coordinator, Dr. Tola Adenekan, says members of the committee are the First Cultural Ambassador of the National Museum and Monument, Ile- Ife, Oloye Lekan Alabi as Chairman, Former Vice Chairman of Osogbo Local Government, Alh. Musibau Adewale Shittu as Secretary, Dr. Tola Adenekan ex-official and Otunba Eniola Temitope as member.

Other members of the committee are Olori of Owu Kingdom- Olori Ameenat Matemilola, Orunto of Owu Kingdom- Chief Biodun Lasile, Mrs. Tolani Sheteolu and Mr. Olamide Lawal while Miss Eniola Gbolahan will serve as Administrative Secretary 

The committee at its inaugural session drew a Advocacy Plan to eminent personalities in Yorubaland including the host, Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Ooni of Ife- Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Cultural icon- Chief Yemi Elebuibon, Moremi Abiodun Duro-Ladipo,  Chief Peter Fatomilola and Alagba Tunde Kilani. Others listed to be visited are Former Osun State Governor, Prince Dr. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Former Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, Musical icons- King Sunday Adegeya (K.S.A), King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 D Ultimate) among others. 

According to the statement, pre event activities that will herald the celebration include a thirteen weeks radio programme “Yoruba Niwa” and cultural competitions among Secondary School students in the six South West states.
