According to a charge sheet obtained by our correspondent, the defendant was accused of committing the offence at about 12:00 p.m. on the said date. The document read:

Count I: “That you, Adebayo Omisakin Sunday, on the 3rd day of January 2025, at about 12:00 p.m., at the Al-Medinat Area, Iludun, in the Osogbo Magisterial District, did break and enter the house of one Shittu Damilare and steal one plasma TV valued at six hundred thousand naira (N600,000:00k).”

Count II: “That you, Adebayo Omisakin Sunday, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal one plasma TV valued at six hundred thousand naira (N600,000:00k), property of one Shittu Damilare.”

The alleged offences contravene Section 411 (1) (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Volume II, and Section 383, punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

During his arraignment on January 7, Omisakin pleaded for bail, but Magistrate A. Adeyeba adjourned the case until January 10 for a ruling on the bail application.

At the resumed hearing, the prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye, opposed the bail request, and Magistrate Adeyeba ordered that Omisakin be remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
