Operatives of Western Security Network codenamed “Amotekun” in Gbonyin LCDA of Ekiti State, have intercepted a vehicle with plate number; Lagos JJJ 513 AV, suspected to be carrying stolen goats numbering 11 along Ijan/Iluomoba – Ekiti road.
The three occupants of the vehicle were said to have jumped into the bush sighting operatives of Amotekun.
The commandant of Amotekun in Gbonyin LCDA Mr Remi Adelusi explained that the suspects were coming from Imesi-Ekiti and following a tip off, he said his men gave them a chase to ilumoba Ekiti.
Unfortunately, they outran his men but luck ran against them when their car suddenly developed mechanical fault along Iluomoba/Ijesa-Isu road, this, according to the Commandant, enabled his men to impound the vehicle conveying the goats.
He further explained that, his men have been combing the area while the vehicle and goats are now being taken to the state command headquarters of Amotekun in Ado Ekiti for further investigation .
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA, Hon Damilare Ajayi, has commended the operatives of Amotekun for their effectiveness in protecting lives and property especially for their recent breakthrough . He urged them not to relent in making Gbonyin LCDA free of crimes.
He called on the residents of the Council area to be security conscious and be ready at all times to give useful information that could assist security personnel in discharging their duties.
Hon. Damilare Ajayi, said the plan is underway by his administration to buy and distribute motorcycles, tires and other materials to security agencies working in the area.
