ONE YEAR IN OFFICE: Ekiti Lawmaker, Ayorinde Solicits More Support For Oyebanji

By Precious Ireoluwa

The Ekiti  State House of Assembly member (APC – Ido-Osi II), Yomi Ayorinde, has solicited support for the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji to continue the “good works” which he started in the state a year ago.

Speaking with our correspondent  in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, on the sidelines of thanksgiving marking the one year anniversary of the Governor at the Emmanuel Cathedral, Okesha, Ado-Ekti, Ayorinde recalled how Mr Biodun Oyebanji, alongside other Ekiti indigenes fought for the creation of the State with the aim of making it the best in Nigeria.

Ayorinde, a former board member, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) felicitated with the Governor, saying the administration is delivering on its policies, programmes and projects, as promised during his campaign.

His words, “This is historic and I say congratulations to you for this historic event. For more than 20 years, you joined other indigenes of the state to fight for the creation of Ekiti state.

“The idea was to develop the state and make it the best state in Nigeria, and for that purpose Ekiti state is your project, no thanks you are holding forth as first citizen of the state.

“The project was designed to bring prosperity to Ekiti state and whoever is doing that for us is our friend, therefore this is my friend for that purpose. Every reasonable person, every patriotic person, every nationalist must support whoever is developing the state and he (Oyebanji) is doing that. Congratulations once more Your Excellency”.

Ayorinde thanked the people for the support given to the Governor to achieve the strides recorded by his administration in the last one year, saying that his administration rose to power through the people’s mandate and support, and assured that the governor will not relent in vigorously pursuing the actualisation of his pact with Ekiti people.

“His performance simply confirmed that his assumption as the Governor of the state is a true son of the Fountain of Knowledge and Land of Honour.

“You set an amazing example for those of us that believe in you. I, on behalf of my constituency, Ido (-Osi II) prayed that you have a smooth administration of the state.

The assemblyman urged aggrieved members of the party to return to the fold and join hands with his administration in developing the state, while making a passionate appeal to those in the opposition parties to defect to the All Progressives Congress, (APC)

According to Ayorinde, “You have not seen anything yet, we are ready to bring everybody on board. This train of development is on the move and those who fail to join will be left behind at the bus stop.

“We must not relent in the struggle to make life more abundant for our people through the implementation of the administration’s agenda.

“The agenda is about empowering our people, insisting that we are your servants and not your masters to ensure that the development which has started and seen by everybody continues.

“I am not tired because there is more to come from the arsenal that has brought this development to Ekiti, and I want to assure you of the total support of the people of my constituency to take the state to the next level.

He said: “Our governor,, I rejoice with you as you clock one year in office. Your life of service, your people-oriented leadership and immense contributions to the progress and development of Ekiti State are exemplary.

“As you mark one year in office, I pray  God to grant you good health and more wisdom to make more impact on humanity.

He enjoined the governor not to relent in seeking the best for humanity, not minding those intimidated by his achievements and increasing popularity.

“On behalf of the people of my constituency, I felicitate with our governor on the well deserved celebration.

“I therefore want to use this opportunity to commend the Governor for keeping to his campaign promises, and not betraying the trust we, electorate reposed in him. We are proud of you,”Ayorinde said.
