Oluyede Faults Oyebanji’s Record, Demands Account of Ekiti Funds

By Jeremiah Ojo

In a statement issued on Monday by the Oluyede Media and Strategic Communications Team and signed by its Head, Olanrewaju Adams, Oluyede said the state has not seen meaningful development despite increased financial inflows.

He noted that key sectors including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and job creation have not recorded the level of improvement expected, leaving many residents to contend with difficult economic conditions.

“Ekiti people are witnessing a government that is heavy on rhetoric but light on results,” Oluyede said.

“Across key sectors, there is little evidence of impactful governance, while the socio-economic conditions of the people continue to worsen.”

He argued that the gap between government claims and the daily realities of residents has widened, raising questions about transparency, accountability, and the use of public resources.

Oluyede accused the Oyebanji administration of prioritising re-election efforts over governance.

“It is disappointing that a government still struggling with basic developmental issues is already consumed by re-election ambitions,” he said.

“Ekiti deserves leadership that prioritises service delivery, fiscal discipline, and measurable progress over political survival.”

He called on the Governor to provide a detailed and transparent account of state resources, particularly funds received from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), stressing that citizens have a right to know how public funds are spent.

Oluyede urged Ekiti residents to demand accountability and engage in issue-based discourse as the 2026 governorship election approaches.

“As we move closer to the next election, the focus must be on competence, accountability, and credible alternatives,” he said.

“Ekiti people deserve better governance built on sincerity, transparency, and results, not promises without delivery.”
