Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has officially launched an online registration portal and identity cards for members of his Obidient Movement, both in Nigeria and abroad.
This announcement was made through a joint statement issued in Abuja by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, and Nana Kazaure, its Director of Strategic Communications and Media.
The identity card, designed with a QR code for authentication, will feature the flag of the country where the cardholder resides. According to the statement, the initiative is meant to promote unity and inclusivity within the movement, with members from both Nigeria and the diaspora being able to participate seamlessly.
The statement explained: “The Obidient registration portal supports Nigerians and fellow Obidients living in the diaspora. The ID will carry the flag of the country of residence, so members can demonstrate the movement’s spirit of diversity, camaraderie, and unity.”
The ID cards for both Nigerians and those in the diaspora will carry the prefix “OBX,” which is common across all cards. The QR code, placed at the bottom right corner of the card, can be scanned to authenticate the identity of the cardholder, providing a secure and reliable way for members to interact and verify one another.
The initiative allows members and supporters of the Obidient Movement to confidently engage with each other and verify identities through the online portal, fostering a sense of trust and security within the movement.
