NUJ Zone B holds Annual Public Lecture

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone B, comprising of Southwest States,is set to hold its maiden edition of Public Lecture series on Thursday 6th, October, 2022 at the NUJ Press Center in Iyagangu area of Ibadan,  Oyo State Capital.

According to a press release jointly signed by the Vice-President of the zone, Comrade Ronke Afebioye- Samo, and the Zonal Secretary, Comrade Abdulrazaq Alege, “the Public Lecture was inspired by the dire need for the Nigerian society to be properly enlightened, informed, educated and orientated on issues and matters of national interest”.

The Annual lecture would feature a lecture on a topical issue bordering on elections. An erudite Scholar and Professor of Comparative Studies, Prof. Shola Omotola, who doubles as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC, Administration) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) will be presenting a lecture on the topic: 2023 General Elections and Electoral Issues in Nigeria: Media Perspectives on the way forward

Distinguished Nigerians including Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, ace gospel musician and seasoned Broadcast journalist, Dr. Joel Olayinka Ayefele, HRM. Oba Oladele Odugbemi ,Olu of  Lisa Kingdom, (Ali-Odu) 1, Publisher Ekiti Standards Newspaper,Barr.Ose Ogunkorode and others, will be garlanded in recognition of their selfless and meritorious service to the nation and particularly humanity as a whole.

Stakeholders, Journalists and General public are gladly invited to be part of this epoch-making event which provides a great opportunity for enlightenment, education and orientation on issues bordering on elections ahead of the forthcoming 2023 General elections.
