Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has responded to social media criticism over her appearance at businessman Obi “Cubana” Iyiegbu’s 50th birthday celebration.
The actress had earlier shared glamorous, filtered videos of herself from the event on her personal social media pages. However, a separate, unfiltered video of her posted by media personality Daddy Freeze sparked online reactions, with many comparing the two versions and accusing her of misrepresenting her appearance.
Reacting to the backlash, Nkechi took to social media to defend herself, making it clear that she reserves the right to control her image on her platform.
“How you see me on other people’s page is solely your business, your father’s business, your mother’s business, your whole generation’s business,” she said in a video response.
She added that she would continue to use filters unapologetically: “On my own page, I will post how I want you to see me. And another thing, you see my filter, I will never stop using it.”
The actress’s bold stance has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some applauding her confidence while others insist on authenticity in public representation.
