Idowu “ID Burster” Rasheed of Aiyegbeni Boxing Club in Ibadan will be making his international debut against Ghanaian Bastie Samir in a ten-round of non-stop action for the Vacant Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) African Light-Heavyweight title on Saturday, April 13th at Kawukudi Park Nima, Accra, Ghana.
Speaking ahead of the crucial bout, the trainer of the Ibadan born boxer, Coach Sunny Bruce said he has put ID Burster in a killer mood and that he would give a good account of himself and make Nigeria proud when he confronts the Ghanaian in his backyard.
Idowu Rasheed who has a staggering record of five wins, one draws and one loss with 5 knockouts on his boxrec has expressed optimism of snatching victory will locking horns with the more experienced Bastie Samir that has a record of 20 wins, one draw and one loss with 81 knockouts on his boxrec this weekend.
Also speaking, Edna Aiyegbeni, the financier of the club and daughter of the late famous Nigerian boxing promoter, Chief Francis Aiyegbeni has also assured the teeming boxing fans of ID Burster recording good outing in Ghana, saying “we have ensured good preparations for Idowu ahead of this fight, and I believe he’s going to give account of himself.”
It will be recalled that ID Burster in his last fight during a boxing show held on the eve of Christmas 2023 inside the indoor sports hall of National Stadium Surulere Lagos recorded a majority draw against the more experienced Olanrewaju “Success” Segun in an eight rounds light-heavyweight contest fight.
